After leaving the motherland and settling in North America in his late teenage years, Shelton Mpala quickly realized something : the portrayal of Africa in the Western World was in no way, shape or form parallel to his reality. Hence, “Children of the Dark Continent” (COTDC) was born, a social media platform with a following of over 20k, that aims to portray Africa in its most authentic self in order to reshape people’s perception and understanding of this beautiful continent. In this episode, Mpala sat down with us to describe some of the defining moments of the COTDC.
